Domaine de Boischampt (Beaujolais)
Domaine de Boischampt can date its roots back to 1642 and the commune of Julienas has been producing wine since Roman times when the legions of Julius Caesar would stop en route to quench their thirst. Acquired in 2018, by the Australian/Japanese couple Bob and Yuko Harris who, together with Director General Antoine Romero and winemaker Thibaud Baudin, the Domaine has made it their mission to cultivate and produce wine organically and sustainably and reflect the varied terroirs of this iconic region. The Domaine currently produces wine in several ‘lieux-dits’ in Juliénas, Fleurie, Saint-Amour, Morgon, Chenas as well as making stunning Beaujolais-Villages, both red and white. To taste through their wines is a veritable tour through the incredibly varied terroirs of the region, yet a through line of purity and typicity is a hallmark of the Domaine.
Ranger Wine will be pleased to offer the 2020 Domaine de Boischampt Beaujolais-Villages Blanc in the fall of 2022 and the 2019 Domaine de Boischampt Saint-Amour later in the season.
