Cantina Marilina (Sicily)
Cantina Marilina is a family-owned fully organic winery in the Val di Noto in southeastern Sicily.
Founded in 2007 by Angelo Paterno, the winery is now run by his daughters Marilina and Federica. The winery showcases with beauty and precision the native grapes of the region. The wines carry a singular identity, with a strong link with the territory and are given life from the natural process of life cycles, without any excessive manipulation in the winemaking process and long fermentations to extract the best qualities from the fruit. The estate covers an area of 35 hectares, with half planted to vines, the remaining parcel left wild or panted to other fruits and olive trees in order to increase biodiversity. Cantina Marilina specializes in the production of three grape varietals, Grecanico, Nero D’ Avola and Moscato, but produces small amounts of international varietals as well.
