RANGER WINE UPDATE SPRING 2023

I’m writing this on the first official day of Spring and typically, in Ontario, there’s still plenty of snow on the ground. What that means is that we are not quite ready to stop indulging our love of deep winter red wines and start popping the Verdejo!

Our Winter Reds offerings were truly wonderful this season and we still have limited stock of Domaine de Boischampt Saint-Amour, Domaine Mee Godard Beaujolais-Villages, Bodegas Piedra Crianza and the newly arrives Res Fortes Côtes du Roussillon Rouge. These exceptional wines are great any time of year, but are so very resonant when the weather is cooler.

However, we are truly stoked for the wines en route for Spring and Summer ! For those of you wo have followed us since inception here’s what to expect to see on offer in the coming months:

  • 2022 Bodegas Piedra Verdejo - we sold out of the last vintage in mere days last year. This beautiful, clean and organic white is perfect for your summer tapas or seafood grill

  • 2020 Res Fortes Rosé - another wine we could not keep in stock last year, this lovely wine has the pale pink colour of a Provencal rosé but the body and a nuance more akin to the famous wines of Bandol

  • 2021 Domaine de Boischampt Beaujolais-Villages Blanc - this delicious, nuanced white is 100% Chardonnay that has seen time in neutral barrel lending a roundness to the texture, alongside the steely minerality of a Chablis

  • Harrow and Hope Brut Reserve No. 7 - based on the 2018 vintage, we expect and receive great things from this gem of an English sparkler! The 2018 vintage in the UK was simply perfect for obtaining perfect ripeness in the vineyard.

MORE GREAT NEWS

We are thrilled to let you know that Ranger Wine has been invited by the Italian Trade Commission to attend VinItaly, one of the world’s premier wine fairs in Verona from April 2-5. We are on the hunt for some classic Italian whites to add to our portfolio and maybe, just maybe, a lovely Prosecco Rosé. We’ll be posting on Instagram as we move through the fair, tasting and attending seminars to bolster our knowledge of the Italian wine universe!

Until then, thanks for reading and always look forward to sharing a glass of something delcious!

Stephen
