Ranger Wine was founded in 2020 as a boutique importer of premium quality terroir-driven wines from the Pacific North West Coast and Europe into the Ontario marketplace. We are very excited to share our newly minted and rapidly expanding portfolio with wine lovers and the hospitality industry.
Stephen Ranger has 35 years of experience in the luxury goods sector and his passion for wine goes back even further. Holding senior positions in major auction houses, Stephen pioneered the first commercial auctions of Fine Wine and Rare Spirits in Ontario in 2002 in partnership with the LCBO. He is considered the leading Fine Wine auctioneer in Canada with deep sector knowledge and networks of discerning buyers. Stephen currently serves as Senior Advisor to Iron Gate Auctions, Canada’a leading auction house of Fine Wine and Spirits.
Ranger Wine provides a portfolio of services to wine collectors including acquisition, appraisal for insurance, fair market, auction or estate purposes. Ranger Wine also conducts fine wine charitable auctions across the country and provides consulting to the not-for-profit sector on fundraising through live and online auctions of fine wine.
Ian Mackenzie
Ian Mackenzie has worked in the wine business for over 20 years and started his journey at a wine shop in Edinburgh, Scotland. Moving back through the supply chain, he transferred from retail to distribution and worked customer service, warehousing, and logistics in Scotland before relocating to Toronto.
Working at two different, well-established wine agencies in Toronto has given Ian a strong understanding of the wine business here. Coupled with his call to lifelong learning, we are excited to see that experience help grow Ranger Wine from these early days to something great!
